Cary & Josh’s Southern Maryland Wedding at Ocean Hall was stunning! We loved this wedding for many reasons and not just because this couple is close to our hearts.

The couple’s venue, Ocean Hall in Bushwood, Maryland was such a beautiful location. The old waterfront estate, now wedding venue, sits on eleven acres right on the gorgeous Wicomico River. It was built around 1670 in the past decades went through some restoration projects. We can still see the beautiful decorative paneling and molding. Ocean Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Okay, we may have just gotten all the information from the internet, but how could we not share! It’s just such a treasure! We fell in love with the warm and inviting tones of the main house and the entire property was filled with colonial heritage. Every corner of the old building had little surprises waiting for us… after all, were history buffs!

Born and raised in the country, the couple made sure to include rustic touches to create a perfect mix of elegant meets provincial. Cary details, from her old family photos, to her antiqued lanterns at the reception, were just perfect. The girls all wore cowboy boots and the boys drank family-made moonshine. Cary was adorned in her grandmother’s pearls and also received her grandma’s wedding Bible as a heirloom gift.

The couple’s classic, religious ceremony took place at Holy Angels Catholic Church, only a few miles from Ocean Hall. At the end of the ceremony, the new husband and wife took an Amish horse-and-buggy ride through the local farms and woods to rejoin the rest of the crowd for the reception.

Let’s talk reception space! The high-vaulted sophisticated sailcloth tent was simply divine! It is actually our first sailcloth tent wedding and we absolutely fell in love. The ode to sailors was perfect for the waterfront location!

The reception started with traditional dances and toasts and faded into evening with Cary & Josh taking a break from the party to share a sunset on a nearby pier.

Overall, the day couldn’t have been more perfect. We wish Cary and Josh all the happiness in the world! Congratulations!
