Kelsea & David’s Southern Maryland Waterfront Wedding was one of our favorites this year! This amazing couple, actually, family, welcomed us like we were one of their own. Although it was our first time meeting, it felt like we’d all been lifelong friendly neighbors! Their kindness was one-of-a-kind filled with southern hospitality.
The couple’s BIG day took place in Cobb Island, a small community at the south point of Charles County, Maryland. It is a place with movie-set-like local dive bars, great seafood, and truly a waterman’s paradise for fishing and crabbing. Of course, Kelsea & David’s wedding took place at a private residence surrounded by the ever present Potomac River with it’s gorgeous sunsets and cool breeze. Subsequently, it was a great start to autumn! From the florals, to the girls rusty orange Azazie dresses, the season changed beautifully.
Married under a handmade arbor right at the water’s edge, they exchanged vows in the sun. Being from a large family with multiple generations present, everyone played an important role… wait until you see the flower girls and ring bearer!
Then the reception was held in a large white tent on the grassy property. David couldn’t contain his smile as he danced with his new bride. It’s always so touching to see so much emotion! Their menu featured Southern fair including roast beef, fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, all of which was very delicious!
We were able to walk away with the couple for some pictures at sunset. And boy, are so glad we did! They are perhaps our favorite photos of the day! As expected, the sky was blazing with beautiful stripes of orange and pink hues and the water was so still it looked like a mirror.
Overall, we loved the vibe of the day of it was obvious that this entire party was a very tight knit group that’s only full of love for each other. This was truly a family affair!
As one of our tag lines reads “we want you to feel like you are part of our family and we’re part of yours,” this wedding really touched our heart. Thank you Kelsea and David for letting us be part of you day.
