National Gallery of Art Wedding: Alessia & Alex

April 10, 2020

Quarantine life is giving us a little chance to catch up on some blog posts. Finally, we get to share Alessia & Alex’s National Gallery of Art Wedding!

We met Alessia & Alex at the E. Barrett Prettyman U.S. Federal Courthouse for their ceremony. These two were really excited and it was so fun being an official witness as they tied the knot. We even got to sign the papers! After their private wedding, we took the couple to the Smithsonian’s National Gallery of Art in Washington DC for some photos.

First, we worked our way through the museum stopping at the paintings that struck the couple. The West Building consists of works from the 11th through the 19th centuries. Then, we took the underground tunnel to the East Building of modern and contemporary art. As artists ourselves we are always striving for new ways to make an impact with photographs. The architecture of the museum’s interior space was perfect for creating imagery that’s unique because it really allowed us to be a little more artistic than usual! This is probably one of Alie’s favorite sessions to date, although she’s a bit biased because she has a Masters degree in Museum Studies. Going to museums is a regular thing for us! And we were so thrilled to enjoy the day with such a sweet couple.

Congratulations on your wedding Alessia and Alex!
