If you were forced to postpone your wedding because of Covid19, you’ve probably gone through the roller coaster of emotions. The anger, the sadness, maybe even a little of the anxiety. BUT, you are not alone, and despite the emotions, you are ready to face this straight on. The coronavirus outbreak will not make it rain on this wedding (pun intended). We created this short list of 5 ways to still make your original wedding date special. From the comfort of your home, take back your date and celebrate!

1. Virtual Party

Invite your closest friends and family to video chat with you! During this call, you can exchange vows to one another as your guests listen and watch in through the web. Pledge your love and commitment and also ask people to share stories about you. Pop some bubbly and listen to some speeches/toasts. If you and your partner are in lockdown together, you can even play your song and do a first dance.

Although you cannot be together physically, the presence of your loved ones on video will be worth it. Including all the trouble and time spent teaching grandma how to log in. Everyone will enjoy being part of this with you.

2. Say your Vows

Exchange vows with one another. Whether publicly (during your virtual wedding) or privately. Exchange letters or simply say some words from the heart. All you need to do is reiterate your love for one another. P.S. some tears may be shed.

3. Order a small cake to share!

A special dinner is one way to celebrate, but we really love desserts. Anyone with us? Who celebrates without cake? Or even better, pie? Order your favorite dessert to share. Talk to your baker about placing an order for a mini version of your wedding cake if you want to be fancy. It will taste delicious, and the bonus with doing that is that you’ll be supporting a local business! Don’t forget to also add some champagne to your toast!

4. Open wedding presents

You may have already received some wedding gifts. Instead of setting them aside, open them together on your original wedding date. You’ll have lots of time to put those new appliances to good use! Now is the best time to learn to cook together. Also, getting out those “Thank You” cards now will uplift your friends and family.

5. Do a Virtual Photo Session

One thing is certain! 2020 will be a year that will  go down in history. Having a memento of this time is something you’ll want as a keepsake. It’s a story to tell and one to remember, why not document it with some intimate portraits. You can show your pajama-wearing self or doll up for the occasion. Whatever you choose to wear, is up to you. Be creative! Your photographer will guide you through steps to make this fun and memorable. If you host a virtual party, (#1) don’t forget to invite your photographer to take some shoots. To learn more about a free virtual photo shoot with us, Click here!
